When do you really know it is time to look for a new role?

We have all been there – those days at work where you feel like shouting at the top of your voice where they can all go!  For 99% of us though, we will internalise this frustration and think ‘what’s the point, no one is listening’, and carry on.   Does this sound like you? Here are the top 5 common reasons people look for a new job.

When do you know it is time to look for a new job

The importance of checking your contract

Put your hand up if you have actually read your employment contract.  Majority of people see the 6 -10 pages of small complex copy and think oomph, I am sure it will all be standard, and they proceed to sign away without a second thought.  Until it’s time to get out of it.

Mediation and employment law

You may find yourself at some stage in an employment situation where you need to seek legal advice. Perhaps you have been treated unfairly, or there are company issues that are having an adverse effect on you and your performance.  Has your employer set unprecedented demands on your role, work hours, salary, that is not in your contract?  Do you feel you have been unjustly dismissed from your role?

Social Media rules for your office

Does your company have a social media policy in place? If you don’t, then I recommend that you have one implemented quickly.

Titles are a-changing

What do you call yourself?  There seems to be a title revolution going on at the moment, and no industry has been left untouched.  I have seen it especially prevalent in the creative industries – and the digital age is mixing up roles and titles so fast, I feel sorry for students about to start studying.
